Recently, Dr Olha Lakhneko used an excellent opportunity to learn and practice measuring photosynthesis status in various leaf types using a dedicated portable device at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. Applying acquired skills, she evaluated photosynthetic activity in the leaves of two contrasting bread wheat cultivars challenged by moderate drought stress during flowering and subsequent recovery. She will continue her research by assessing global and redox proteome dynamics in leaves. Dr Lakhneko’s training was supported by a mobility STSM grant from COST ´RECROP’ (CA22157).
