On 26th February 2025, a seminar titled “PLADIAS SK – Database of the Slovak Flora and Vegetation” [in Slovak] was held in the conference room of the Botanical Institute PSBC SAS, p. r. i., under the guidance of A. Kantor and K. Marhold. The morning (theoretical) session introduced the database, covering its history and current status, and provided an overview of how interested parties could engage in the operation and development of the database. The afternoon (practical) session focused primarily on potential collaborators wishing to gain access to the internal part of the database and actively contribute to its development. This session explained how data can be processed for import into the database via the import table, how users can import data themselves, how they can comment on and flag errors in others’ data, and finally, how and by whom the data can be corrected and its credibility revised.
Recordings of both parts of the seminar are available below:
– Recording of the morning (theoretical) session (1h 45m)
– Recording of the afternoon (practical) session (2h 21m)
A complete seminar presentation is also available and includes numerous useful links. It can serve as a manual for individuals interested in the database, as well as for direct collaborators, who will find there instructions for specific tasks. The table of contents on page 2 serves as a navigation guide, allowing users to quickly get to the desired sections.
